If my mother's side of the family is quite complete, my father's side is still to be thoroughly searched.
Courtesy of itsourtree.com (
http://www.verwandt.de/) and myheritage.com I found a friend who is related to a Bülchmann. She emailed me that her late grandmother had the same surname. I'm raring to work on this now that I'm receiving feedback and I think it's a good start!

On my father's side of the family, though, I have often wondered where all my German relatives could be. It has been 15 years or more since I've lost touch with them due to their change of addresses. Sometimes I wish to find some information online, and indeed, there are many places to possibly find them.

Way back, sometimes I did "Mr.Bean-ish" things like google my surname or my late grandmother's maiden name. Then, months ago, I thought of making the search easier by trying a
Google Deutschland search and that is how I was led to verwandt.de where I found names of possible relatives from Hedemünden and Göttingen. And still the quest goes on. I get excited, wow, may pag-asa pa pala. I always thought I was the only Buelchmann sa ibabaw ng lupa. It's also because I've yahoo-searched and googled before as early as 1997 but I got no details.
Below was the result of my search for the surname Buelchmann at google.de
To further my search I was advised to reach these people thru the online phone directories.

And it's working! Found all info I possibly need =) This is where I've stopped for the moment. I still need to review my German language lessons :D
And for frugality's sake, I will contact all possible relatives via Skype instead of regular overseas phone call. I think it's a good idea!
To be continued....
Hi Chriss,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you are tracing your family roots. Wish I can do the same with mine (Portuguese & Chinese). Somehow, our lineage stopped somewhere untraceable. Keep it up!!!!
Hugs,
Ria
